Remote Learning
Remote learning at Daylesford Academy has been operational since March 2020. It began when teachers foresaw the beginning of a prolonged absence of physical lessons and began preparing mobile work packs in the first instance to post out to pupils.
Since that date our remote learning offer has evolved into a more substantial service that now consists of three areas:
- Electronic Remote Learning in Groups.
- Electronic Remote Learning One to One
- Mobile Work Packs – delivered and collected weekly
In emergency situations we have a dedicated 100% remote learning timetable which provides live teachers lessons in the following format:
Day | Lesson One | Independent work | Lesson 2 | Restorative Mentor (follow up) |
Monday | 10am-11am | 11.15am – 12.30pm | 1pm-3pm | 3pm-3.30pm |
Tuesday | 10am-11am | 11.15am – 12.30pm | 1pm-3pm | 3pm-3.30pm |
Wednesday | 10am-11am | 11.15am – 12.30pm | 1pm-3pm | 3pm-3.30pm |
Thursday | 10am-11am | 11.15am – 12.30pm | 1pm-3pm | 3pm-3.30pm |
Friday | 10am-11am | 11.15am – 12.30pm | 1pm-3pm | 3pm-3.30pm |
Your child will be notified via text service and website announcement if we would be required to move to this model of service.
The Future of Remote Learning
Our research and analysis of collected data and learning progress has taught us that remote learning may well have a future as a level of service offered by Daylesford Academy. We have found that in selected cases (that in future would be assessed individually) remote learning could be a reasonable adjustment for certain pupils who otherwise find face to face learning challenging.
